My last blog entry was over 8000 words in length: my sincere apologies. While none have been particularly short, I fear there is such a thing as literary (or bloggary?) decency, out of which I have wandered. Nobody reads books on computer screens. It’s too much of a strain on the eyes.
Voltaire once apologized to a friend for the length of a letter. He would have made it shorter, but he didn’t have the time. I pledge to find the time, from now on, to reread my long pieces, and make them shorter (It’s patience that I lack. The blog gets an ending, and “publish” is the next step).
Hope they still entertain.
Not necessarily true: http://poynter.org/content/content_view.asp?id=121250
We've been consistently entertained, although the resident gearhead more so. Me, I prefer elephants and leeches to enfields. Not that I'd know where to get any of the three repaired.
